Aqua Love! Before and After (and a little bit of black)

Oh my, I love old furniture and paint.
When I saw this headboard, I knew it would be gorgeous in Aqua!

I also had a dresser and nightstand that I knew would look great painted Aqua to match.

The only before picture I had, but oh so cute!
Gorgeous!

My daughter, Morgan posted a picture on Insta-gram of the dresser and nightstand with these white knobs and glass knobs. She asked which knobs were peoples favorite.  The glass knobs won, now I have to wait for them to go on sale at Hobby Lobby.
Every third week the knobs are 50% off!

Yay, I am Happy!

The other dresser has been black for a while now

Go find that furniture and get painting!
It's addicting!

Holy Bucket of rust! Before and after Twin hot pink iron bed

Holy Bucket of Rust!
I bought this bed for a song, but I wasn't singing for long.
It was rusted so bad, and it took a lot of love and elbow grease to make it look nice
I fell in Love with it and it is my baby!

It is metal and iron and so cool!

The headboard

The foot board

the rails I wish all the new beds were made this way. You can see the rust.

For fun, a nightstand

Primed

Shabby Chic white Queen Bed! Before and After

I am sitting here eating cherries as I blog, Yum!
Here in N. Ogden our 4th of July activities are Cherry Days.
There use to be a sea of cherry Orchards,
now there is a sea of houses!

It's a good thing, I love both,
cherries and houses!

Now, to the fun stuff!

A Before and After!

I bet you have seen this bed before, probably owned one like it.
A very popular style.
It is a well made heavy bed, with lots of  character.

A few imperfections and fixes, but overall pretty good shape!

Very smart, it is a full and a Queen!

Shabby Chic White

The edges are distressed perfectly!

A very poor photo, but this is what I am looking at out my window!

I can't forget my cute fan - He said Ta Da, as I took the picture!

The Bed is going on KSL classifieds later today for $150.00, unless somone local wants it for $125.00!

Rescued from the Garbage! Before and After full bed!

I went to the D.I. thrift Store  with my daughter Paige and her little boy Cash.
We went for fun and with no intention of buying anything.
So I didn't take my truck.
I found not one but 2 beds!

When I went back to pick up the beds, a dresser was being unloaded,
and it was to cute to pass up. Now I have 2 beds and a dresser.
Doesn't stop there because,
There was a full size headboard that matched the dresser,
and they were going to put it in the garbage because it was cracked.
I said
Whoa, don't throw it away, I will buy it!
Yup, they gave it to me!

Before

 Primed
 AFTER

While I was working on the other two beds, this girl got a taste of turning something Drab to Fab!

And to think it almost ended up in the garbage.  Stinkin Cute, I say!

Sneak Peak of a furniture find!

I am jumping for joy at these finds!

A beautifully ornate headboard...

With an equally awesome long dresser...

Can't forget about a matching tall dresser!

A complete set. PERFECT!

Oh how I am loving the knobs! I see lots of potential in this piece.

Did I mention it also has 2 night stands and a mirror! Yowza, I've got lots to paint. Yipee!

Any suggestions on color. . .
What would you do?

Pretty in Pink Before & After!

This is my new favorite
Ha Ha, how many times have you heard that. . .
I love this style of dresser, with the detail and curvy legs!
I usually paint them vintage white,
but I was wanting to try something new,
and I am happy I did!Oh, I bought this at a garage sale for a whopping $15.00
Highway robbery!
I feel bad, knowing that the people selling it, had no idea I thought I hit the jackpot!
I try to stay calm and jump for joy when I get home!
I spray painted it Ballet Slipper pink,
and sprayed the original knobs white!

I distressed it very little, and left it glossy!

I started to prime this headboard, and then remembered to take a picture!

Yes, I have two before and afters!
A dresser and a bed,
and I love love love them both!!!
Recipe
PRIMER - Zinsser oil base primer. I bought it at Lowes.
I used oil base because the top of the dresser was Laminate.
It is messy and you need mineral spirits to clean your brush and hands!
If the dresser did not have a laminate top and been solid wood,
I would have used Kilz Latex water base primer.
The clean up is with soap & water.
PAINT - Krylon Gloss spray paint - Ballet Slipper from Walmart
POLYURETHANE- minwax wipe on clear satin
KNOBS -I cleaned them with soap and water, let them dry.
I sprayed them with Kilz oil-base primer, let them dry really good.
Sometimes I rush this part and I have a problem.
I then sprayed them with Valspar White and Voila it's done!
I have only spray painted one other dresser a couple of days ago, for my daughter.
It turned out so cute, I thought I would try another one.
check it out here:
Spray paint is QUICKER than painting with a brush or foam roller,
but more EXPENSIVE!
Hope this helps, any questions. . .
