Face Lift Before & After Hall tree and entry way!

I am always painting for some one else,
and
decided our own home needs a face lift!
If you remember this
about my bathroom vanity.  Well this is the entry way you walk into and through to get to the bathroom.

Not bad before, but not great!

The Entry way Hall Tree belongs to my daughter Erin and is on loan until she wants it back.
We kinda trade furniture like that!
At one time it was a creamy white, then I painted it black, now blue.
I love blue right now and would have every room blue if I could.

The paint color is Valspar Sparkling lake.  When I finished painting it, it looked perfect. . .
for a nursery!  Unfortunately, this is an entry way not a nursery.  So I got the sand paper out and got to work.
The black came through and now it is perfect for an entryway.

I did not prime this piece, I just gave it a really good two coats, and then sanded it and finished up with a minwax satin poly to give it durability!

I kept the original hooks

I hope your noticing the wall. . .  It got a face lift too!

I put a new coat of Valspar semi-gloss Ultra white and the bead board and trim.  Sounds easy, but there is
a lot of trim and 4 doors!  I also had a lot of holes to fill, sand and prime!

The color I used was Glidden Satin Autumn Haze.

Before I decided on that color, I bought a lot of samples and did this to my wall.  Funny thing, summer
Haze isn't in this picture.  I did find the perfect gray for an extra bedroom I will be working on though!
That alone will save a week worth of trips to the paint store to buy yet another sample of paint!

I wanted to show you this picture of the mirrors.  I did not tape them off - I know, you can't  believe I dare do this.  After the paint was good and dry around the mirrors, I used Windex.  It came off with a little bit of elbow grease!    while I was painting the wall, and would drip or the brush would hit the trim - I used Windex to wipe it off!

Now it is all done, the decorating starts! Oh know there are too many fun things out there.  I have so much
crap stuff, that I would not have to buy a thing.  But where is the fun in that. . . I am loving the colors of orange, green and yellow with blue right now.

I do live on a farm, a hobby farm.  I keep trying to change my style, but I still like wire and wicker baskets.

Maybe a bright orange chalkboard

 Or a ruffled pillow

                                                                  Before the new Paint.

Yup, we have a drinking fountain in our entry way!  Wonderful, functional, hard to decorate around!

Well, I am off to TJ Max,  Erin called last night and said there was a picture that would look cute in my entry way.   She was going to hide it for me!  Ha ha - hope I can find it!

Wow! I love what you did with your hall tree! I have the same one! When my hubby rescued it from a curbside trash pile it was poorly painted black over the creamy white. I decided it needed new life with a pop of color and painted it with home made chalk paint made with Valspar Coral reef and sealed it with minwax satin Polycrylic. I left the top and bench seat wood. It’s such a great useable piece of furniture!
