Before and After: Oak Table and 6 chairs

FYI - I paint furniture and do a few crafts and my #1 post  on this little ole blog is this:

Tasty Spinach Dip!!!

The recipe is found Here.  Everyone and their dog must have made this for Thanksgiving, and now with all the Christmas parties, this little ole post has gone crazy! It is really really good!

Different Strokes for Different folks!

I have friends who are done with their Christmas shopping.  I have friends who haven't even started, and I am some where in the middle!  We are all so different and that is the beauty of living!

It is the same in decorating!  Some like vintage, some like modern and  I am somewhere in the middle!  And once again, that is the beauty of living! The world would be so boring if we all liked the same things!

The fun part of painting furniture for people, is seeing the difference style they like!  Some of you will love this table and chairs I painted for a darling girl and some of you will not.

BEFORE;

Each chair painted a different color!
For a girl who loves color, this was fun!

A Black Pedestal table too!

What is your style . . . .

Aqua Table & Chairs: Before & After

My niece Jaclyn is getting Married!
She is cute, trendy and FUN!
In LOVE too!

She Wanted me to paint her a table and chairs, so I did.

The chairs looked like this before:
Pathetic

I sprayed the chairs with Valspar Exotic Sea.
Then I had Lowe's mix me up a quart of paint to match the spray paint - to paint the table!

Yes, they look better!

Cute like Jaclyn!

A little distressing

The table is an adorable vintage drop leaf!

It can be small

Or big!

Ruffed it up just a smidge!

She is thinking this with a little bit of red!
Can you see the vision?

Before & After: Black table!

I love it when I enter the thrift store and I don't have to hunt for a treasure, it is out in the open and waiting to be bought and brought back to life!  I spotted this table and loved the design.  It was in pretty good shape too.

It needed a little cleaning, filled a few dings and dents, and a light sanding.

It was quick and easy to paint,  and I think the results are Great.

I love the shape!

The base is shapely.

The top, umm Love!

I feel sorry, that someone gave it away thinking it was no good any more!

Claw Foot Table! Before & After

My favorite special orders go like this,
Hi
I need a display for jeans for the store.

Do anything you want, any color you want,

I trust you!

Scary thing to tell a girl who LOVES color!

This claw foot table came to mind, and I could just see it decked out in Tangerine Orange and stained
with an almost black stain - Jacobean minwax. And yes we were so excited we started painting before we took a before picture!  Jake, my once in a while helper said, " Mom you need a picture."  A true DIYer!

Here is the lovely base - so solid and perfect for what we were going to do!

He is meticulous - I told  him I don't think we need to paint the underside of the table, but to finish nice, he said we did!

Look at this claw foot, so perfectly painted.  -  pretty pretty toes!
 a little fluorescent.

Next we distressed it by using a piece of light grain sand paper wrapped around a sand block.

Then we brushed it off with a dry brush - good for the crevices

Then a cloth to remove the remaining dust

Some rags, one to wipe it on, a couple to wipe it off.  I recommend cheap gloves or your hands will look like mine - black!

Distress the edges and don't worry about doing it to much or to little - it all works out!

I stain a small section at a time.  Wipe it on generously, and wipe off quickly - it gets sticky fast.

The top is stained the and the bottom isn't - can you see the difference. .

When it is all done, you take a picture that makes it look miniature - whoops!

The fluorescent tangerine orange is now a rich beautiful color!

another picture of the awesome, beautiful base.

I love the claw foot!

The top, I am in Love - Thanks Laura for giving me your trust and letting me do something fun!
