The latest, greatest frame adventure! An open frame gallery wall!

I love Frames, all kinds of frames. . .
Old, new, ornate or plain.  Brass, resin, wood or plastic.
A frame is a frame and all frames are delish!

I have used frames for chalkboards and for chicken wire memo boards.

The latest greatest frame adventure is an open frame gallery wall.
with a couple of mirrors and a few other fun things thrown in!

This project was for my daughter Paige.  So, together we pulled out my frames and got to work.  We lay them out and moved them around and kinda went a little nuts.
Literally nuts!
There is not right way, or wrong way.
It is just what you like. . .
Too many choices!

So I searched. Oh, I love what we can find out there today!

Picklee

Not only is there 35 different wall gallery's, there is help on how to!

The painting was the easy part, deciding which frames and how to put them together was not!

Here they are, all dressed up and happy as can be!

To get the frames on the wall, the way they should be, we did the paper thing.  We traced and cut and taped.  It was a great way to make sure it was going to work, and where to place them, before we started putting nails in the wall.

Pottery Barn

One last thing - I am loving these frames from Pottery Barn.  I don't love the price $149.00.

My pink frames $3.50 plus spray paint!

White desk with stained top: Before and After

So. . . .
I am not a photographer, and I need to be!
I love blogs who have beautiful pictures.
mine are not.

I also find it fun to see how baaad the before pictures are!

For example, this desk.
The before picture is really bad.

But the desk was really bad.

The desk is solid wood, but it had been worn by the weather.

The top of the desk had no stain or varnish left.  I always wanted to do a two tone piece of furniture, but never wanted to do the work of stripping the top.  Well, here you go, it was done for me by the weather!

I love the detail and character this desk had!

Sadly, it was missing a drawer pull. So I moved them around and added a new one.  I had to fill a few holes and drill a new one, but it worked O.K.!

This desk is for my college student son, and at first I was going to paint it black.  I wanted it to be masculine, and I also wanted to stain the top.  So I painted it white, used a black glaze, and sprayed the hardware bronze.

I love love the old hardware!

Simple knob added

purty from the side too.

It is fun to try new things!  I think the two tone gives it a rich look, and it is a little more masculine for a cute boy!

I snapped this silly, awesome, fun picture when Jake was washing the cabin windows, in the early morning.  I said, "Flex" and he did, I hope the desk isn't to girly????

Any thing can look good with a little bit of paint!

Once in a while I join in and participate in Boutiques.
It is a lot of work to mark your goods, and THEN you haul it all there. WHEW!

Displaying your things are always a challenge!
So, I have been on the look out for a shelf that wasn't to big or to heavy.

I found it!

I can carry this by myself, that is how light it is.

Oh, the power of paint!  Any thing can look good with a little bit of paint - this is why I am addicted!

Thrift store silver plated basket and owl from TJ Maxx spray painted!

Resin ampersand from Hobby Lobby painted with Rust-0-leum Lagoon

subway art from Kohls and metal boxes from Target

Pears from Ben Franklin craft store (they look so real, everybody tries to eat them!) white bowl a gift from a sweet daughter - also TJ Maxx.

Most of the Boutiques are in the Fall, so this little shelf will happily sit here until then.

Peace Out!

Some one had no longer wanted their vintage milk white accessories.
Their junk my treasure!

They are extremely happy in their new home - my newly painted gray bathroom! Not only are they GORGEOUS they are functional.
They hold my q-tips, cotton balls and chap stick!

White Chiffarobe (armoire/wardrobe) Before and After

Love- a profound intense affection for someone or something.
That is how I describe my feelings for this chiffarobe!

I Love it!

It is a beautiful piece of Thomasville furniture.
I love everything about it.  If it had been in better shape, I may not have painted it.  It had tons of dings and very flaky dry wood.
